Law Office of John H. Nix in Sherman, Texas

I would not recommend John Nix to anyone seeking legal counsel. I live out of the state in which I was charged. We were given a list of attorneys in the area and unfortunately not being from the area we made a very poor and costly decision. After paying $5,000 to take my case he never contacted me, after multiple phone calls he never returned a call. The first time we spoke was in person at my court hearing in which I was never given any information regarding what he was working on etc. He was very elusive and I knew then we had made a grave mistake by choosing him to represent my case. After driving half a day to my court hearing I was told he and the DA had not come up with an agreement and I would have to return for another hearing. Keep in mind, he could not present data he was 'working on with the DA'. I returned for my next court hearing, another 8 hour trip and again was told they hadn't quite returned with an agreement and I would have to come back. I knew then Mr. Nix was seeking additional monetary gain for my case when he had done absolutely nothing for me thus far. After explaining I need something to happen as I can't keep driving back and forth with no information as to what he is 'working up' he then returns with an agreement with the DA and I was given my sentence. He is awful, DO NOT waste your time nor money on this man. I normally do not post reviews however I want to warn people from going through what I went through. This man needs to be reviewed by the board. After reading additional comments stating he took money from clients and their opinion of representation was not up to par encouraged me to write this review. Be cautious, I think I was given a poor deal after a good chunk of money because Mr. Nix really didn't seem to give a rats bum about me nor my case. I should have known when he would not return a phone call during the entire year he took on my case nor could or would he provide information regarding my case even in person! Highly NOT recommended!!
