News Andre Thomas was conviced in the 2004 stabbing deaths of a Sherman woman and two small children. (Grayson County Jail/TDCJ) (KTEN) — Convicted Sherman killer Andre Thomas has received another reprieve from the Texas death chamber. The 15th Judicial District Court on Tuesday withdrew Thomas' April 5 scheduled execution date. The court said the decision gives Thomas' legal team time to prove that their client is incompetent to stand trial. "Mr. Thomas is one of the most mentally ill prisoners in Texas history, having gouged out both of his eyes and eaten one of them.
